Maddie and Chimney could grow their family in 911 Season 8
Fall television is on its way and we’re getting snippets into what to expect for the characters on our favorite shows! For 911 season 8, this is no different for Maddie and Chimney, who fans have been rooting for since before way before they got married last season.
Maddie Buckley (Jennifer Love Hewitt) and Chimney Han (Kenneth Choi) got their long-awaited wedding in season 7 after years of dating and having their daughter, Jee-Yun. They’ve been through a lot together, from Maddie’s ex-husband stalking her to overcoming postpartum depression. In season 7, they finally got to celebrate some wedded bliss before helping their friends, Hen and Karen Wilson, when their attempts to adopt a little girl, Mara, went sideways.
Will Maddie and Chimney choose to add another baby to their family in 911 season 8?
The couple became emergency foster parents so that they could help take care of Mara while Hen and Karen figured out how to deal with Councilwoman Olivia Ortiz. She interrupted their adoption case as a way to further torment Hen over an emergency that led to her son’s death.
This is only some of what is in store for Maddie and Chimney, though. A preview for 911 season 8 teased the couple would be exploring the option of expanding their family. Specifically, they will “weigh the pros and cons of expanding their family.” We don’t know if they want to add another baby to their family, so taking care of Mara could likely lead them to have this discussion.
It’s possible Maddie could have some fears about having another baby, especially due to her postpartum depression. This was made worse due to a medical condition that went undiagnosed for months. There are always other options to expanding their family and we’re excited to see what they decide and whether they will have more children.
There is so much to explore with the couple and we’re looking forward to watching their journey together as a family, no matter what they decide to do in the future.
911 season 8 premieres on Thursday, September 26 on ABC at 8/7c. The episodes are also available on Hulu.
