911 season 8 trailer and synopsis reveals a buzzworthy call for the 118!
The trailer for 911 season 8 is here! In the first look for the new season, there is an explanation for how bees are involved in the newest season of the ABC hit show. Plus, we also have an idea of what the characters will be up against as they battle the killer bees that have been unwittingly unleashed on Los Angeles.
Per the synopsis, the episode, which is titled “Buzzkill,” finds the crew of the 118 fighting against “an "un-bee-lievable" emergency when a trailer with millions of bees crashes on the streets of Los Angeles, unleashing a swarm.”
In the trailer that was released, a truck carrying 20 million killer bees is involved in a car accident on the highway. This incident leads to all of bees escaping and wreaking havoc, even swarming together to become a “bee-nado,” as Evan “Buck” Buckley (Oliver Stark) exclaims in one clip.
We also got some glimpses of the rest of the characters, including Bobby Nash (Peter Krause), who fans may remember was replaced by Captain Vicent Gerrard (Brian Thompson), who was removed from the 118 over a decade earlier due to his racist and sexist behavior towards Chimney Han (Kenneth Choi) and Hen Wilson (Aisha Hinds) during their first years at the 118 before Bobby arrived.
Take a look at the 911 season 8 trailer!
Now according to a preview of the new season, Bobby will be working as a technical advisor for a firefighter television series, which is described as being “ridiculous.” While Bobby is away from the team, Buck will be dealing with Gerrard for the first time, as well as Eddie Diaz (Ryan Guzman). While Buck recently came out as bisexual, this will be his first experience dealing with someone who is homophobic. How will he handle it coming from someone who is now his boss?
At the end of season 7, Buck got a glimpse of Gerrard’s nature when he heard the man call his boyfriend, Tommy Kinard (Lou Ferrigno Jr.), a slur. Tommy also worked with Gerrard at the 118, so he knows all too well what Buck is going through, so he will be a source of comfort for him.
In addition to dealing with the bees, Hen and her wife, Karen (Tracie Thoms), have their own villain to deal with in the form of Councilwoman Olivia Ortiz. She is the one who is preventing them from being able to adopt Mara, who is currently being cared for by Chimney and his wife, Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt). This experience also may cause the couple to determine whether to expand their family as well since they also have their daughter, Jee-Yun.
With the trailer and new information about season 8, 911 is shaping up to be exciting and buzzworthy! The new episode will air on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 8/7c. You can catch up on previous episodes on Hulu.
