CBS has truly found a hit in NCIS, a crime procedural that solves cases while giving insight into the lives of men and women investigating them. Among these agents were Michael Weatherly’s Tony and Cote de Pablo’s Ziva whose will-they-won’t-they love story kept fans intrigued for years. Sadly, their story had to come to an end after de Pablo decided to exit the series, and Weatherly also took his leave a few years later.

That said, NCIS decided to keep the doors open for both characters (although everyone was made to believe that Ziva was dead for a time). And while both Weatherly and de Pablo have made guest appearances on the show over the years, they are yet to reappear together even as Tony and Ziva are supposedly together in the story. Fortunately, that’s about to change with the spinoff NCIS: Tony & Ziva.

Weatherly and de Pablo confirmed that their spinoff was in the works on May 7. In a social media video posted by Paramount+, the two stars also confirmed that their new show will be set in Europe with production taking place in the summer. Since then, fans have been excitedly waiting for the show’s premiere.

When fans see Tony and Ziva again, they are busy parents who have long moved on from their time working for NCIS under Leroy Jethro Gibb (Mark Harmon). After all, Tony is already running his own security company while Ziva’s work status is currently unknown. No matter what they’re up to, however, the two former agents would also be raising their daughter, Tali, who would be a young teen when the show premieres.

Just like the mothership, one can also expect a lot of other interesting characters to be introduced on the show.

For starters, according to a report from TVLine, NCIS: Tony & Ziva will supposedly feature a British nanny for Tali who would also be her bodyguard. Aside from the nanny, the show is also reportedly casting for a Russian hacker and French liaison officer from Interpol. So far, no other actors are confirmed to join the cast, but announcements should be made soon enough with production about to begin.

In the meantime, here’s hoping that the show will also feature some reunions, particularly with Gibbs and Sean Murray’s Timothy McGee!
