Netflix finally confirms the fate of The Gentlemen
Can you believe it’s taken five months to find out whether The Gentlemen would be renewed or canceled? We started to fear the worst for this Netflix comedy crime series.
TVLine reports that a decision has finally been made. Netflix has renewed The Gentlemen for Season 2.
What else do we know? Let’s take a look!
Theo James and Kaya Scodelario will return for The Gentlemen Season 2
There was a point that we feared that Netflix would cancel the series because of some words from Theo James. He almost hinted that there wouldn’t be a second season when he shared that he may not return for it.
The good news is that it was just comments while waiting for an official decision. James is back as Eddie Horniman. Meanwhile, Kaya Scodelario will return as Susie Glass. There is no show without the two of them, so it makes sense.
Guy Ritchie will return as writer and director. Matthew Read will also return as co-writer.
What about other cast members? They have not been confirmed yet, but there are a good few we expect to see return in some sort of way.
The Gentlemen Season 2 episode count is confirmed
Along with the main casting, we also know that the season will have eight episodes again. This works for this form of storytelling, which keeps the focus to one overall storyline with a few side plots for various characters to go on throughout the season.
The details of what to expect in this second season aren’t out yet. The first season focused on Eddie trying to get his family out of the drug game. However, he started to realize that he liked the thrill of it, and we wondered whether he would actually break free from Susie Glass. He could play the gangsters at their own game, but it meant becoming one himself.
