Griselda

Netflix scored a big hit with Narcos, examining the rise of the Colombian drug lords. The new series, Griselda, focuses on one of the most feared of the bunch, Griselda Blanco, whose style was offset by being more ruthless than any of her male counterparts.

Sofia Vergara leaves Modern Family behind to play Griselda, showing her rise from street person to one of the richest women in Miami and the dark circumstances surrounding her fall. It’s a gripping six-episode tale that shows how the females really are the more dangerous of the species.

Griselda premieres on Netflix on Thursday, Jan. 25.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith

After years in development hell, Prime Video is finally unleashing the Mr. and Mrs. Smith series based on the 2005 Brad Pitt/Angelina Jolie movie. Donald Glover and Maya Erskine are two strangers recruited to be part of an elite spy agency. However, they’re thrown to discover that their cover means posing as a married couple.

The series has the pair embarking on exotic missions and the fun in that they’re better suited for dodging bullets and disposing of corpses than they are living in the suburbs. It gets trickier when this arranged marriage may result in real feelings between them for a great action romantic comedy.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith premieres on Prime Video on Friday, Feb. 2.
