A new Dexter revival is on its way starring Michael C. Hall
Some characters will never die. It looks like Dexter Morgan will be one of them. Michael C. Hall is back as the popular antihero, and many are curious as to how. It’s all coming in a new sequel series, Dexter: Resurrection.
Hall will reprise his role as Dexter Morgan. This news was announced during SDCC, along with that Hall will provide the inner-voice narration for his younger self in the prequel series Dexter: Original Sin. The latter makes sense, but the idea of him back in a sequel series doesn’t.
Didn’t Dexter die in New Blood?
After bringing what is considered by many as one of the worst series finales ever, the series righted a wrong for Dexter. He wasn’t left alone seeking absolution. Dexter: New Blood brought us a new story for the serial killer who has a moral code of conduct about him.
At the end of the series, though, Dexter’s son killed him. We were left believing that this was it for the character. There was no way that he could have survived that.
Well, maybe he could have. It seems that Dexter: Resurrection is going to change something about that ending.
Could Dexter: Resurrection follow Harrison’s story?
While Hall is returning, there is nothing to say that his character will be the main focus. There isn’t much about this revival just yet, and it is possible that Hall’s inclusion is in a small way. Maybe he is just narrating the episodes, or maybe he will be there to serve as an inner-voice narration for Harrison. It would make sense that Harrison would take after his father, and then end up with his dad’s voice leading the way.
Alternatively, we could see Dexter return as a figment of Harrison’s imagination. This would allow Hall to appear on screen and not just in voice form. Until we know more about what this revival is about, we don’t know if New Blood’s ending is going to be undone or if Dexter being back is in a ghostly form.
