Is a new episode of Chicago PD on NBC tonight? (March 13)
As much as we would love to see Intelligence take on a serial killer, that's not happening just yet. Here's what we know about Chicago PD tonight.
We are certainly more than ready to see Intelligence take on a serial killer. We know that’s coming in the next new episode of Chicago PD. The question now is when that new episode will air.
The series took a break from new episodes last Wednesday. There is some bad news in that there isn’t a new episode of Chicago PD on tonight, Wednesday, March 13, either. All of One Chicago remains on a break.
There is a rerun on tonight, though. We’re heading back to the third hour of the season, when we worried that a new cop would be brought in to replace Torres. The good news is that this cop is definitely not someone to join Voight’s team.
When will Chicago PD return with new episodes
NBC made it clear how long this break was going to be. We’ll get new episodes on Wednesday, March 20. The episode will see Intelligence deal with a serial killer, making it their most dangerous case yet.
What’s the deal with the break, then? This is likely two-fold, and it’s all do to with scheduling.
We’re used to seeing breaks around this time of the year. They help to ensure there are enough episodes ready to air in the coming weeks. After all, production and post-production take a long time.
Then there’s the fact that there are only 13 episodes to this season. When we learned the season would premiere in January, we just knew breaks in the schedule were likely. NBC will want its shows to air their finales in the middle of May, and there were more than 13 Wednesdays to cover between January and May. That means breaks are needed.
