Is a new episode of Chicago PD on NBC tonight? (March 6)
We're ready to see Intelligence deal with a serial killer in the new episode of Chicago PD, but that's not going to be tonight. What is going on with the NBC schedule?
After just coming back from a break, NBC is putting its One Chicago shows back on another break. Chicago PD will not air a new episode tonight, Wednesday, March 6.
In fact, there won’t be a new episode for a while. NBC has been upfront with this in the promo for the new episode, which gives us an exciting look at the story. We certainly can’t wait for the show to come back.
There are some reruns on tonight. It’s time to head back to the second hour of this season. We’ll see Ruzek deal with life at home as he is waiting to get back on the job after surviving the gunshot wound. The team needs to work together to protect Ruzek from the situation he found himself in the middle of while not on duty.
Why isn’t Chicago PD new tonight?
It’s not all that clear why NBC is taking time off. There isn’t a special reason for the night. It’s not like there is some big news event or sports coverage on another network.
It looks like this is linked to the needs for the schedule. There are only 13 episodes in the season, and we’re already at the halfway mark. NBC will want to end the season in May, so that means breaks in between. We knew that would be the case with the January start date.
NBC will time this with March Madness starting next week, as well.
When will Chicago PD return with new episodes?
NBC made it clear when we can expect Chicago PD Season 11, Episode 7 to air. We’ll get to see the new episode on Wednesday, March 20.
The episode will see Intelligence deal with a serial killer. It’s not often that we see a serial killer thrown into the mix, which certainly ups the danger to the case. This will be worth the wait.
