Peacock sets release date for Anatomy of Lies (What is it about?)
Back in 2022, Grey's Anatomy fans were shocked to learn that one of the writers was full of lies. Elizabeth Finch's world unraveled as the truth came out. It's time to learn more about the story in Anatomy of Lies.
Finch, who began working on Grey's Anatomy in 2015, told stories about health issues in her life. She talked about how she had a rare form of bone cancer, and how she had to have a kidney removed. Her story was even used to help with the development of Dr. Catherine Avery's cancer storyline.
She didn't stop there. She wrote essays in various magazines about her medical diagnoses. Many of her essays were turned into storylines for the TV series.
Anatomy of Lies will go into Finch's web of lies
Peacock will bring a three-part docuseries called Anatomy of Lies, which will look into the web of stories that Finch created. It all fell apart for her when Vanity Fair wrote an expose. There was no hiding from the truth laid out in front of her.
Finch refused to provide her own medical documentation or even go through an independent evaluation while Disney looked into the claims that her stories were fabricated. The investigation never came to a conclusive end, though. Finch resigned from her position after being put on administrative leave, forcing the investigation to end.
That all happened in March 2022. It was in December 2022 that she came clean about it all, admitting that she lied about everything. She even lied about her brother dying by suicide. He's still alive and living in Florida!
When will Anatomy of Lies premiere on Peacock?
The three-part docuseries will drop on Peacock on Tuesday, Oct. 15. All three episodes will drop at once.
The series will include interviews from those close to her, including her former wife, sharing the stories about how they shared their own stories and ignored the red flags.
