There is nothing like a "use the moment" type of proposal. And when it comes to those types of proposals, Burzek is the perfect ship for that. We saw that in Chicago PD Season 11, Episode 3.

During the third hour of the season, Burgess dealt with an attack on a refugee camp. It looked like a hate crime at first, but it was soon clear there was something more personal to the entire situation.

One a personal level, we got to see Burgess and Ruzek interact at home. The show spent a little time at the apartment through Ruzek’s eyes as he dealt with not being back on the force just yet. This time, we saw it through Burgess’s eyes, as she got ready for a nightshift at the refugee camp and Ruzek took on overnight parenting duties.

Seeing Burgess and Ruzek parent in Chicago PD

The two have the parenting thing down now. Nobody was stressed as Burgess shared everything Makayla needed for school the next day, even when it came to realizing she left her lunchbox at school. Ruzek finding his Power Rangers lunchbox was perfect timing and so cute!

At the end of the episode, Ruzek was asleep on the couch as Burgess got home, but he put Makayla to bed and then went to see how Burgess’s day went with everything that went down. All Burgess wanted was to know that Ruzek would keep fighting for them. She wants this family.

Did Burgess say yes to Ruzek’s proposal?

That’s when Ruzek decided it was time to pull out the engagement ring again. He had been waiting for a special moment, but this exact time was perfect for it. He could show how serious he is about the relationship with the proposal.

It wasn’t anything romantic, but Burgess didn’t need that. She didn’t get all excited because they’ve been down this road before, but Ruzek didn’t need to see that either. The two are so on the same wavelength right now that we finally have hope that Burzek will work out.

Yes, Burgess said yes. Third time’s the charm, right? Let’s hope it is. We need to see a relationship actually work out in Chicago PD.
