NCIS: Hawaii is getting set for Season 3 with a popular NCIS: Los Angeles face now part of the cast! Here’s a peek at what’s coming!

NCIS: Hawaii Season 2 ended in May and, as usual, was expecting to come back in September 2023. However, the combination of the WGA and SAG strikes curtailed production for months, meaning a “half season” is ahead.

It’s been handled, so CBS will be releasing new episodes starting in mid-February after the Super Bowl. That includes NCIS: Hawaii, which ended Season 2 on a wild note as Tennant risked her career by breaking out former mentor turned spy Maggie.

At one point, Jane and Tori were under fire from goons but saved by NCIS: LA agent Sam Hana (LL Cool J) taking them down. Shaw ended up escaping after Jane took down the man behind all this.

That was a big finale and now, Season 3 looks to pick up where it left off and give even more action for fans.

What’s coming in the NCIS: Hawaii Season 3 premiere?

CBS has released photos and plotlines for their winter 2024 TV slate, including the NCIS: Hawaii Season 3 premiere. Titled “Run and Gun” the episode is part one of a two-parter as Jane is back on the job only to discover Sam is conducting her final interview. That’s interrupted by a hunt for a hacker.

"After passing her medical and psych evaluations, Tennant is surprised to see Sam Hanna conducting her final interview to clear her return to work. Also, when the team discovers a breach in the U.S. Marshal’s database, Sam joins Tennant in Las Vegas to locate the hacker,"

It was previously believed LL Cool J would only be playing Sam on a recurring basis. However, with the season expected to run just 13 episodes, it’s likely Sam will become a regular face for the season.

This looks to kick the season off in an interesting way, as it’s hinted the upper brass wants Sam to keep an eye on the NCIS team, which could lead to clashes with Tennant. Either way, fans should be happy to see NCIS: Hawaii finally returning to enjoy another year of action.
