Has Snowpiercer really just removed one of its villains as a threat?

Snowpiercer Season 4, Episode 7 certainly took us through the emotions. Did it really just kill off one of its villains, though?

There have been a lot of questions about Milius, and Snowpiercer Season 4, Episode 7 gave us some of his backstory. It also seemed to bring his story to a complete end.

Caution: This post contains SPOILERS from Snowpiercer Season 4, Episode 7

The episode opened with an explanation of the events that took place in the basement of the silo. We learned that Milius has always wanted to do human experiments, but the real admiral refused to allow that. He was also removed from his duties due to information the admiral found out about Milius.

Who betrayed Milius? After releasing the toxic chemicals that would cause the scarring on the soldiers in the locked basement, Milius learned that his wife was involved. She died in that attack, and now Milius has her picture to remind himself of the betrayal.

Milius tries to get rid of Wilford again in Snowpiercer

It’s always been clear that Milius hasn’t really cared about people. He also still runs a lot of experiments on people. Those that he wants to get rid of he’s been able to send to the basement.

However, that hasn’t held Wilford and Layton. The two were able to escape with the help of Alex, and that meant trouble for Milius. He decided to take matters into his own hands and took Wilford down to another part of the silo that had been closed off. This part of the silo allowed the cold air from outside in, which meant deathly temperatures.

It was all in an attempt to kill Wilford. It’s clear that Milius regrets saving Wilford from the tracks. Wilford is able to rally the men in ways that Milius can’t, making him a threat. However, Wilford is also still always a step ahead of his enemies.

Is Milius really dead in Snowpiercer?

As Milius talked for way too long, Wilford was able to overcome the cold. You see, he has been through those cold treatments that Dr. Headwood has done. That means he can fight through the freeze, and he was able to turn the tables on Milius.

Wilford pulled out the oxygen tube from Milius’s suit. He was no longer protected from the cold, killing him. And it certainly looks like he is dead. There is little coming back from being frozen to death unless Headwood or someone wants to save you. Nobody even knows that Milius is in the closed off areas of the silo, so who would even know to go and get him?

Plus, everyone who could save Milius has left the silo. They are on Snowpiercer, heading out to New Eden to get Big Alice. Well, all except Josie, Layton, and Liana, who are trapped in that abandoned car.

So, it looks like Milius really is dead. It seems a bit of a waste for the villain in the last season. I wanted to see more and understand him more, but this is what happens when a show comes to an end quickly.
