Snowpiercer Season 4, Episode 7 leaves lives in limbo in a shocking twist
We have always known that Wilford is not to be trusted in Snowpiercer. He is also always multiple steps ahead of everyone else. We got that reminder in the latest episode.
Caution: This post contains SPOILERS for Snowpiercer Season 4, Episode 7
With just three episodes to the end of the series, it’s hard to see how this can end in a happy way for anyone. There were a lot of big reveals and twists, and they put multiple lives on the line.
Did the bridge explode in New Eden in Snowpiercer Season 4, Episode 7?
Let’s just take a look at the New Eden storyline. Oz found out that the Animal Squad wasn’t digging graves. They were planting bombs. The plan is to cause an avalanche and bury the town of New Eden.
Realizing that a bomb could be on the bridge, Javi and others stop Ruth from driving Big Alice over the tracks. They were left waiting on the other side of the bridge while Javi and others went to check, finding a bomb on the bridge.
Javi was able to freeze the components, but would that be enough to prevent the explosion? It seemed not, as Ruth and Till saw the bomb go boom in the distance. The question is whether this was done in a controlled manner or not.
We don’t yet know if the bridge has blown up and if Javi made it out alive. I hold out hope that we won’t get another heartbreaking death just yet considering we’re still not over Ben!
Nima was the one to start the ice age in Snowpiercer
The end of the episode made it very clear that the Animal Squad never really did follow Milius. Instead, they seem to be following Nima’s orders, and he is up to something big. Does he really want to save the world? That’s hard to tell when we learn that he was the one who actually started the Ice Age.
It was the first version of his compound that created the permanent freeze. He’s been working on Gemini for 15 years, but Melanie pointed out that they’ve only been on Snowpiercer for nine years. Wilford confirmed that Nima’s Gemini made the big freeze happen.
It is possible that he was attempting to fix the already growing problem of climate change, but it went horribly wrong. So, it is possible that he wants to fix it, but he refuses to follow Melanie’s advice to avoid launching it now. Is Snowpiercer going to end with Nima destroying every bit of humanity that is left?
Layton, Josie, and Liana left out in the cold in Snowpiercer
The biggest shock of the whole episode was the ending. Wilford didn’t want Melanie and Layton on the train, but they managed to get on anyway. While Melanie was with Nima, Wilford was able to deal with Layton, who was with Josie and Liana in a carriage.
Wilford has uncoupled Layton’s carriage. Now the three are left out in the cold with Snowpiercer heading off in the distance. It’s hard to see how the three can be saved after this. Will they be able to get back to the silo in time before they freeze to death, or is that it for them?
This episode left us with many questions as multiple lives are on the line in Snowpiercer Season 4.
