As we come up to May, we know to get ready for finale season. The current main shows on CBS have their finale dates, and that includes So Help Me Todd Season 2.

We are still waiting on renewal news for this show. Every year, there are a few shows that we love that end up on the bubble, and this seems to be one of them this year. It’s not alone at the time of writing this, and it’s not the only quirky series to sit on the bubble. Elsbeth also is. We’re hoping the two Thursday dramadies can make it through.

Of course, for now, our focus has to be on the finale. Just which date should be put in our diaries, and what does this mean for breaks in the schedule?

When will the So Help Me Todd Season 2 finale air?

CBS has set the date for Thursday, May 16. This is around the usual time for finales, which makes sense. CBS will want to get the TV schedule back to normal after a delayed start, and ending the season the way it usually does is the best way to start that.

There are no details for the finale at this point. We’re still a month away from it, and there are a few episodes still to air. The show won’t want to share too many spoilers by teasing things for the finale right now!

Will there be more breaks in the CBS schedule?

With the finale date, it means we can look at if there are more breaks to come.

There is some excellent news. There are 10 episodes to the season in total, and there are still five episodes to air. With five weeks including the May 16 finale date, there is no need for another break in the schedule. We have a clear run to the finale.

Will So Help Me Todd Season 3 happen?

What about the chances of a renewal? This is a little harder to tell. CBS will need to keep some shows on the bubble to hold up against new pilots. If the new shows have more potential of drawing in a large audience, they are the ones that will be picked and current shows will be canceled.

There is a concern with the linear ratings. So Help Me Todd sits low down on the ranking of CBS shows in the linear ratings. According to TV Series Finale, it ranks 17th in both the demo and the total audience out of all the scripted shows on the network. As a Thursday night drama, this isn’t that great.

With SWAT ending this season, it does open the door to move the show to a Friday night to kick of a Friday night of dramas. However, there are still the likes of The Equalizer and NCIS: Hawaii that rank higher than this show in the linear ratings, which suggests that they will be renewed and this one won’t.

I don’t want that to be the case. I’m taking emotion out of this decision and simply looking at the numbers. The broadcast networks are a business, and that means numbers play a huge part in decisions.
