We are more than ready to see a new episode of The Equalizer. The same can’t be said for CBS.
After just returning from a break due to the Oscars, The Equalizer is back on another break. There is a rerun, but it’s going to be at the later time of 10 p.m. ET/PT. The Sunday night drama block is being moved forward an hour as reruns aren’t the best way to kick off a night of new shows.
While it does make sense, we’re not sure why the series is taking a break. It’s likely that this is linked to scheduling on two parts. CBS will want to space out the episodes of the series that it does have, and the show could need a little more time for the post-production of some current episodes.
The Equalizer will return in March 2024
In some good news, The Equalizer Season 4 will be back this month. There is a new episode set to air on Sunday, March 31. It will even air at the usual time of 8 p.m. ET/PT.
There are no details of what to expect in the new episode just yet. That’s not uncommon, as the promo for the new episode is usually released a week before, so we’re expecting it sometime this evening, probably after Tracker’s episode airs.
There are always concerns that all these breaks in the schedule will mean that CBS won’t renew it. After all, it’s hard to find a loyal following when episodes are constantly pre-empted. The good news is The Equalizer continues to perform well in the ratings for the network.
According to TV Series Finale, the show sits in 7th place in the demo for the linear ratings. It is in 5th place in the total audience. This is out of all scripted programming. There are shows below it in the ranks that have been renewed, including Fire Country and NCIS: Sydney, which suggests that the Queen Latifah series is good for at least another season.
The Equalizer returns on Sunday, March 31 at 8/7c on CBS.
