The Equalizer will not air new episodes in June 2024, but we roughly know when it will return

The Equalizer is now on its summer break. That means no more episodes in June or July. Here's when we can expect new episodes of the Queen Latifah series to return.

In some bad news, there isn’t a new episode of The Equalizer on this month. In some good news, we know when the series will return and we don’t have to wait too long.

Not airing a new episode in June isn’t all that surprising. The broadcast networks take the summer off for big scripted shows due to the lower linear ratings. People like to go away or just want to spend time away from the TV.

The Equalizer Season 5 is officially happening. Now eyes are on when that will be the case. Just how long do we need to wait?

The Equalizer is on the move but will return in the fall

Will we need to wait until 2025? Thankfully, no. CBS has confirmed that the fall lineup is looking relatively normal. Shows will be back in the fall, and The Equalizer is one of them.

The series is on the move, though. It won’t be the first show of Sunday nights. Instead, Tracker will air first and then it will be followed by The Equalizer. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The 9 p.m. ET/PT timeslot can be tricky at times, but Queen Latifah’s series already has a strong following and we can’t see the slightly later time putting too many fans off. This could allow for a little bit of darker storytelling.

CBS hasn’t set any premiere dates just yet. That is likely to happen in July, but for now, we can take a look at when fall shows tend to come back. Sunday night shows are often affected by the return of football at the weekend, so CBS can often leave the return dates to October rather than September. This could mean a Sunday, Oct. 1 start date.

We’ll be sure to keep an eye on things as CBS sets the return dates.
