The Equalizer isn't back tonight, but there isn't much longer left to wait (April 14)

After taking last week off for the CMA Awards, many fans of The Equalizer are ready to watch more. When will the next new episode air on CBS?

We knew that breaks in the schedule would be needed this season. That doesn’t mean we have to like them. The Equalizer continues to take a break tonight, Sunday, April 14.

This break isn’t due to something else on CBS like last week. Instead, it looks like it’s due to scheduling needs. This season is much shorter than normal, and it looks like it’s going to be slightly shorter in length than a few CBS dramas.

Tracker and CSI: Vegas will still air new episodes tonight, with both shows pushing forward a little earlier than normal. This is arguably a better move than putting them after a rerun of The Equalizer, especially with CSI: Vegas being on the bubble still.

When will The Equalizer return with new episodes on CBS?

The good news is the wait for the new episode is almost over. The Equalizer Season 4, Episode 6 will air on Sunday, April 21. It will be back at the usual time of 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.

This is the last break in the season. There are 10 episodes in The Equalizer Season 4. With this last break, we have the last five episodes of the season run back-to-back. I think the odd week off here and there is worth it when that happens.

The finale is officially set for Sunday, May 19. This is around the normal time for CBS finales of fall and midseason shows. There's really only NCIS that is being pushed to slightly earlier in the month due to the shorter season order than normal.

There is a lot going on personally for each of the characters recently. The last we left Dante, he made up an excuse for his father. However, it’s clear that his father is up to something. He was at the bar talking to someone. This has to come up at some point.

We’re also seeing a lot of issues for Robyn’s family. Aunt Vi and Delilah are both facing issues with people in their lives. Bullies at Delilah’s school think that her life is perfect, and Aunt Vi is struggling not being able to tell her friend Trish about Robyn’s job. It’s hard keeping these types of secrets, and Robyn will need to find a way to help them. After all, her choices have led to them all getting into this situation.

The Equalizer airs on Sundays at 8/7c on CBS.
