The Equalizer is taking another break tonight, but we know when it will return (April 7)

After only just returning, The Equalizer is back on another break. Here's why and when it will return.

“No Way Out” – Aunt Vi enlists the help of McCall and the team when she realizes her masseuse is a victim of domestic abuse. Also, McCall trains Dee on situational awareness and Dante goes against orders by chasing after the man who shot his friend Manny, on the CBS Original series THE EQUALIZER, Sunday, April 23 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+. It feels like we’ve only just got The Equalizer back and it’s already on another break. The good news is we know when to expect a new episode.

There isn’t a new episode of The Equalizer on tonight, Sunday, April 7. We won’t get a rerun, either. This is a case of the CBS having something else to air. It is airing the CMT Awards throughout the night, which is disrupting all of Sunday’s programming. You can watch a rerun if you want, though. Paramount+ has past episodes.

There is some further bad news, though. There isn’t a scheduled episode for next Sunday, April 14, either. When will the series return?

When will The Equalizer return with new episodes in April 2024?

There will be some new episodes in April, but not for a couple of weeks. Episode 6 of the current season will air on Sunday, April 21. This will be at the usual time of 8 p.m. ET/PT.

What’s with another week off? Well, this is linked to the strike and the need to air episodes in May, when the finales usually air on broadcast TV. While the networks couldn’t start the year as normal, they are trying to end it as normal. This means a few scheduled breaks here and there, which also help with production timelines to make sure episodes are ready.

There are only 10 episodes in Season 4. It looks like the majority of CBS shows have only got 10 episodes to the season. In fact, ABC seems to be following suit. NBC managed to get 13-episode seasons for most of its shows.

There are no details as to what to expect in the new episode right now. All we know is that it’s called “DOA.” Just who is dead on arrival?

The Equalizer returns on Sunday, April 21 at 8/7c on CBS.
