NBC was so happy with The Irrational that it quickly renewed it and put it in the fall schedule. Now we get to know the episode count, and the good news continues.

The first season only had 11 episodes. This is normal for a first season. Usually, a freshman series that airs in the fall will get an extended episode order, and that was the case for this show. It was originally going to have 10 episodes, and then there was the request to extend it to 13. Due to some scheduling needs in production, the series only had 11 episodes.

We’ll get to see the other two episodes, though. Those were moved to the second season. Now we know just how many episodes we’ll get in The Irrational Season 2.

The Irrational Season 2 will be a full season

When we initially hear that a show is getting a full season, we think of 22 episodes. That was the standard for so long. However, that started to change in recent years, and that was even before the pandemic. The cost of production has led to networks finding ways to reduce the costs, and some of that is through what is considered a full season.

Now, a full season can be anything from 16 episodes and up. Some shows even get away with having 13 episodes and it being declared as a full season.

The good news for The Irrational fans is that we’re not going that low for Season 2. We’ll get 18 episodes to the season, according to TVLine.

Will everyone be in all episodes of the season?

Another cost-cutting measure is to reduce the appearances of the cast members. This is something the One Chicago and Law & Order shows have recently done. We’re going to see it with two of the FBI shows on CBS next year as well. ABC is also doing the same to Grey’s Anatomy.

What about The Irrational? There are no signs that we’ll be missing some actors here and there during the season. That doesn’t mean it won’t happen if the story calls for it, but as of right now, it looks like everyone is going to be in all episodes.

The first piece of business is to find Rose. She was taken at the very end of the first season, and we’re concerned.
