We were all ready for our favorite shows to return tonight, Tuesday, Oct. 1. One of those was supposed to be The Irrational.
The second season was set to premiere straight after a new episode of The Voice. Plans have changed, and we can thank politics for that. The good news is we’re only waiting an extra week for the series to come back on our screens.
Why is The Irrational Season 2 preempted tonight?
NBC opted not to go head-to-head with FOX in the Vice Presidential Debate. This makes a lot of sense. After all, we need to hear what the two candidates are saying and promising, and we need to see how they debate each other.
FOX had already changed its schedule once it confirmed the debate. NBC took a little longer to confirm it wouldn’t air the episode.
When will The Irrational Season 2 premiere on NBC?
The great news is we’re only waiting an extra week for the series to come back. We’ll now get the episode on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
The episode will pick up off the back of the events in the Season 1 finale. Rose was taken, and Alec is going to find out that this was no ordinary kidnapping. The question for us is whether this was to target Rose or Alec. After all, both have their secrets and their pasts, and it could be either of them.
Alec will stop at nothing to figure out where Rose is. He’s sure to get all hands on deck, but the question now is whether he can be rational rather than rationally irrational to get to the bottom of the situation.
Rose will also need to buy herself some time. That’s what she’ll do as much as possible to give Alec and Marisa time to find her.
The Irrational Season 2 premieres on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 10/9c on NBC. Catch up the following day on Peacock.
