Alec Mercer is sure to hunt down Rose's kidnappers in The Irrational Season 2

We're getting closer to the return of fall TV, and we're still wondering what's to come next. What can we expect to see for Alec Mercer in The Irrational Season 2?

Fall is almost here, and that means we’re ready for our favorite shows to return. The Irrational Season 2 will premiere in October, but we know very little about what to expect right now.

The Irrational Season 2 will pick up off the back of the first season finale events. Months after Alec figured out who was responsible for the bombings that burned him, we caught up with Rose, who had a flat tire. Some men came to “help” her, only to end up abducting her.

Alec will want to find Rose in The Irrational Season 2

There is only one way for the story to go at this point. Alec and Rose were dating and getting to know each other. With some of the past behind him, he was able to focus on the future. With Rose taken, Alec will want to get to the bottom of the situation.

Of course, there are a few ways that this story could play out. The first is that Alec needs to even figure out that Rose has been taken. What if the abductors don’t put the word out? What if nobody believes that Rose has been abducted? Marissa is sure to believe Alec, but she would need to get others on board.

Then there’s the chance that Rose is being held for ransom. Is this connected to Rose’s past or Alec’s past? This could affect the way things go for Alec.

Will Alec get in the way of the investigation in The Irrational?

We know that Alec isn’t perfect. He knows that he can act the way many others do, and he can’t always stop that. While he is smart, he knows that he’s not always the smartest person in the room, and he does admit to his weaknesses. This could mean that we see him act irrational in the search for Rose. He could get in the way.

Then it all depends on how long this case goes on for. Is this a season-long storyline? If it is, it would take Alec away from other cases too much. So, I could imagine this being wrapped up within an episode and then the focus being on finding the men responsible for Rose’s abduction. This will allow the case-of-the-week format to continue throughout the second season, so we’ll see Alec in action to help others.

We will also get to meet Alec's dad in the second season, which means more family dynamics and history.

The Irrational Season 2 premieres on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 10/9c on NBC.
