The Originals vet joins The Rookie Season 6 (get the details)
The Rookie is adding a big new recurring character this season as Danielle Campbell of The Originals will be joining Season 6. Who does she play on the show?
The Rookie ended Season 5 on a wild note as several of the cops found themselves being attacked while Angela gave birth to her and Wes's child. Thorsen was among those badly wounded and the final scene had him coding in the hospital.
What the cops didn't realize was the attacks were nothing but a distraction by a master criminal (Kristian Bruun) to pull off some sort of major heist.
The Season 6 opener will reveal Thorsen's fate as well as Nolan's preparation for his last shift before his wedding to Bailey. Given this is The Rookie, Nolan likely has to handle some crazy events if he wants to get to the church on time.
Between the wedding, Thorsen's fate, Chen and Bradford's romance, Angela and Wes's child, and the usual random zaniness of the job, these cops could use some good therapy. Luckily, it's coming.
Who is Danielle Campbell in The Rookie?
Per TVLine, Danielle Campbell will debut in the Season 6 premiere as Blair, an LAPD psychiatrist assigned to help the team through their traumas. It's indicated she's the one who has to sign off on whether some cops can return to the job or not.
Campbell is best known for her role as Davina in The CW series The Originals. Her other credits include Runaways, Famous in Love, and Tell Me a Story. Known for a nice sense of humor and style, Campbell should be able to bring that into the role of Blair.
So The Rookie gets some much-needed counseling for its cops that may be needed when Season 6 kicks off.
The Rookie Season 6 premieres on Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 9/8c on ABC. Catch up on the series on Hulu.
