The Night Agent continues to expand its cast as the Netflix hit prepares for Season 2. Find out who is now going to be on the spy thriller series.

The Night Agent was one of Netflix’s best successes of 2023, with viewership so huge that the streamer ordered a second season just a week after the first one dropped. Based on the novel by Matthew Quirk, it tells the story of Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso), an FBI agent working at the White House who’s pulled into a conspiracy against the United States.

Basso will return for Season 2 along with Luciane Buchanan as his love interest, Rose. It appears Season 2 has both getting involved in a secret group called the Night Agents, tracking a new threat against the U.S.

The Season 2 cast already includes former East New York star Amanda Warren, Brittany Snow, and Teddy Sears, among others. Now, a new quartet of actors has joined who will fit into the plotline well.

Who are the new faces on The Night Agent Season 2?

Per Variety, the series has added Michael Malarkey (The Vampire Diaries) and Keon Alexander (The Expanse) as series regulars, with Navid Negahban (Homeland) and Rob Heaps (Station 11) as recurring guest stars.

According to the descriptions, Malarkey is “Markus, a military chief and loyal nephew to a dictator newly convicted of war crimes by the Hague.” The actor is known for playing Enzo on The Vampire Diaries with roles on Westworld and Law & Order: Organized Crime.

Alexander, who starred in three seasons of The Expanse, plays “Javad, who oversees security for the Iranian Mission to the United Nations and monitors the loyalty of its employees.”

Veteran character actor Neghban will portray “Abbas, the venerable U.N. ambassador for Iran.”

Heaps, last seen on Station 19 and Good Girls, will be “Tomas, the elitist son of the aforementioned deposed dictator, who is keen on restoring his family to power.”

The plotline indicates there will be a big conflict in the Middle East that Peter and the rest of the Night Agents have to stop from escalating into a full-scale war. While there are likely a few more cast members added soon, these four make The Night Agent Season 2 a bigger deal.

The Night Agent is available to stream on Netflix.
