Things are not looking good for Walker Season 5
Things haven’t been looking great for a Walker renewal for some time. Now it seems like the writing is officially on the wall.
The CW hasn’t been all that vocal about the three remaining shows from the pre-Nexstar days. Out of the three, All American seems to be the one that’s most likely to succeed to another season. Walker seemed to be the one most likely on the chopping block due to the costs of licensing.
Despite the network not making an official decision yet, it doesn’t look like we’re going to get anymore. In fact, it looks like the show itself has resigned to being canceled.
Walker sets are being pulled down
Deadline reported some terrible news that hints at cancellation. The sets are being pulled down. This usually happens after the official news has come in. Sets are dismantled as a clear sign that the series is done. Then the props can be auctioned off for other shows to use.
It costs a lot of extra money to rebuild the sets. The only reason to pull down the sets before official news is if those sets were never going to be used again. For example, let’s say Cordell’s house blows up and it leads to a whole new set being needed anyway. That’s not likely going to happen, though, and it’s just a sign that the series isn’t getting a renewal.
Will the Walker Season 4 finale work?
There are concerns that the Season 4 finale won’t work as a series finale. It’s a concern that a lot of people have for a lot of shows. Just look at the concerns surrounding NCIS: Hawaii, So Help Me Todd, and CSI: Vegas. Some shows can make their finales work and others can’t.
Well, it turns out that the Season 4 finale wasn’t written as a series finale but it does have a satisfying conclusion. Previous seasons have ended with cliffhangers, but it sounds like this isn’t the case for Season 4. That could be because the writers had a feeling that the show would be canceled due to everything that’s happened to CW shows in the recent past.
There are still hooks for a fifth season, according to TVLine. So, there is something there should the writers need to build on it, but it does sound like this is the end.
