It didn’t take long for CBS to renew Tracker for a second season. With the success of the first season, we also weren’t surprised to see that it would land a fall slot.
CBS has now announced the premiere dates. Usually, we’d expect fall shows to premiere in September, but CBS is changing that up this year. The wait for shows is longer than we’d like, and the wait for Tracker Season 2 is even longer than others.
It’s not clear why CBS has chosen to do this. It could be that CBS needed to delay the starts due to shorter seasons—this prevents long breaks later in the season. It would be nice for CBS to explain things to us, especially when we’re used to September starts in the fall.
Tracker Season 2 premieres at the end of October
Tracker is one of the last premiere dates of the season. It will premiere on Sunday, Oct. 27. The episode is scheduled to air at 8:30 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT rather than 8 p.m. in both time zones. This is due to the football game in the afternoon. We tend to see the push back by a half hour due to this around this time of the year.
This will be followed by The Equalizer Season 5 premiere. This time of year, we’ll see the ET times switch between 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. for Tracker due to the football.
The second season is set to follow Colter on more reward missions. He doesn’t save people out of the goodness of his heart. He wants the reward money. That is until it comes to friends, which is when he does make a few decisions that don’t rely on money.
The end of the first season did see Colter deal with some family things and learn some secrets of the past. We’re sure to see them come up, especially with the news that Jensen Ackles will return to the show for a multi-episode arc. Will Colter and Russell find out what happened to their father, and will we see them team up with Dory at some point?
