Upton struggles in her personal life in the Chicago PD Season 11 premiere
“Fall” TV is almost back. The fall shows have been delayed to the midseason, but that doesn’t mean we’re not excited. Chicago PD Season 11 is one of the first to come back to our screens, and it’s going to be a tough season for Hailey Upton.
As fans know, Upton is leaving the series this season. It’s not clear yet if it’s during Season 11 or at the very end of it, but it will happen some time this season and there is clearly going to be a buildup for the exit.
The synopsis for the Chicago PD Season 11 synopsis makes it clear that there is a buildup happening. It all comes off the back of the previous season, which saw Upton take on some dangerous cases while outside of her regular working hours just so she didn’t have to go back to an empty home. She also found out Halstead had extended his enlistment period without telling her and now he’s not returning her calls.
What will Upton do in the Chicago PD Season 11 premiere?
There isn’t a promo for the season at the time of writing this, but the synopsis for the premiere tells us a lot about what’s going on. Upton is going to see the mental health department connected to the police, but that isn’t something she’ll really want to do. She doesn’t see eye to eye with the clinicians, and that’s sure to make her work life difficult.
Her personal life is still a struggle. That’s not surprising when Halstead isn’t returning her calls. It looks like the two are on the verge of divorce, especially since there have been comments in publications that Upton is going to take her wedding ring off.
Voight will stand by Upton’s side, though. He likely understands some of what she’s going though, and he does see the members of Intelligence has his children. He’ll want the best for Upton, even if that does mean eventually leaving the department.
