In some good news, Walker Season 4 is happening. In some bad news, it’s not happening just yet.
While NBC is opting for January premiere dates, the other networks are not. That means Walker Season 4 is definitely not on the list of January 2024 releases.
There is a lot more bad news to come, though. The CW hasn’t yet confirmed when any of its shows will premiere in the 2023–2024 season. Not the returning ones, anyway. This is linked to the strike action, but it could also be linked to the Nexstar takeover.
When could Walker Season 4 premiere on The CW?
We had hoped that Walker, along with All American and other returning CW shows, would arrive in February or March of this year. The lack of schedule for the season makes it difficult to hope for that now. Surely The CW would have told us to get ready for either of those two months by now.
With a 13-episode season confirmed, March 2024 is the latest that we could get Walker Season 4 for a May 2023 finale date. That is unless the network opts to run two episodes per week. So, it could suggest that The CW is holding the returning shows for the 2024–2025 season. This could then allow for fall premieres for all of its shows.
Walker Season 4 was initially planned for the midseason, along with Superman & Lois and All American: Homecoming. This was likely due to the strike action more than anything else, so putting it back in the fall by delaying all the returns does make sense.
It’s hard to say what The CW’s schedule is going to look like with Nexstar taking over. Everything has changed for this network with more acquisitions from the UK and Canada.
Walker is available to stream on Max.
