As Law & Order comes to an end for another season, it looks like we’ll find out the new DA has some major secrets. Don’t miss a beat of the Law & Order Season 23 finale tonight, Thursday, May 16.

The finale is set to be the last episode with Camryn Manheim. Manheim joined the series when it was revived back in 2021, and she has been a constant favorite for many fans. Variety didn’t share why Manheim is leaving, and whether it was her choice or not. Usually when it’s a star’s choice, we get a statement from them, suggesting that this is a creative choice—and not one that fans will like.

How will Lieutenant Kate Dixon leave the precinct? We’ll need to watch the finale to find out.

What to expect in the Law & Order Season 23 finale

The finale sees a case where the shooter gets the wrong victim. Everyone starts to think that DA Nicholas Baxter was the intended target in a shooting, and that means everyone will need to rally around him to keep him safe.

Of course, Baxter is up for re-election, so it would make sense that this shooting is to prevent him from being re-elected. It may not be the shooting that affects his campaign but the aftermath. When his daughter comes forward as a witness, a few family secrets come out. What has Baxter been hiding this whole time?

Check out the promo and synopsis for Law & Order Season 23, Episode 13:

"When a sports star is killed, Shaw and Riley suspect the shooter missed their intended target. Baxter's daughter comes forward as a witness, but her public testimony could impact his re-election campaign with the confession of a family secret"

Law & Order will stream on Peacock.
