What happened to Knight and Parker in the NCIS Season 21 finale?
The team had a case that was about to go underwater in the NCIS Season 21 finale. It looked like two of the team could end up underwater with the case.
It all started with three dead bodies found on a ship. That wouldn’t be too unusual for the team except that this ship was being turned into an artificial reef. Of course, the murderer didn’t want to be found, and we knew Parker and Knight would end up trapped in the ship.
It was a race against time to find the two. The problem was at first nobody knew the two were trapped on the ship. Would they find them in time?
Trapped on the ship in the NCIS Season 21 finale
Parker and Knight head to the ship for more information and evidence, only to end up trapped on it. Parker fell with part of the ship landing on his leg. Even without that, they wouldn’t get away. The two had been trapped in a room.
The two of them tried to find a way to get the heavy pole off Parker, with Parker making Knight angry to find the physical strength to do it. However, Parker had been cut badly in the fall, with bleeding coming from what looked to be the femoral artery. Suddenly, the dire situation became even more dire.
As they realize there’s a buildup of pressure, Knight opens the hatch to find water there. Will they need to swim for it? Parker wouldn’t have the ability as he started to suffer from blood loss, but Knight possibly could do. She did tie the rope around her waist for Parker to pull her back in if she was down for too long, but would Parker remain conscience enough to pull her back if needed? Who was the little girl called Lily running around the ship?
We got a flashback of a young Parker chasing the young Lily around a ship as they played hide and seek. Parker did gain consciousness in time, but the rope was no longer attached to Knight when he pulled it back.
The team realizes two of their own are missing
Fortunately, the team realized pretty quickly that Knight and Parker were missing. At first, it looked like Knight was just ignoring Jimmy after his blow up. However, Knight didn’t answer Kasie and then Parker didn’t answer either of their calls.
McGee pinged their phones but came up with nothing. This wasn’t normal, which mean it was all hands on deck to find the two of them. They tracked the car instead, but that led them to Sammy’s house—you know, the sloppy joe truck guy who owed one of the dead guys money? Well, that put the agents onto the nose of the wife of one of the guys, taking them away from Knight and Parker.
It wasn’t a useless trip. Not only did the agents get some answers about the murderers (one murder victim’s wife and her uncle, who happened to do security for the ship), but they also found out that one of them went back to the ship. It told them to go to the ship.
What happened to Knight in the NCIS Season 21 finale?
Knight did lose the rope, but she managed to get to a hatch. The problem was that she couldn’t get the hatch open and ended up losing grip of the hatch lock in her exhaustion. She did have the sense to bang on the ship, which got the attention of everyone else now at the ship.
Would they get to Parker in time? He wasn’t breathing by the time they got there, so Jimmy and Kasie were left performing CPR on him.
We cut to him in a hospital room hooked up to machines. It’s good news. Parker made it out alive, so it looks like everyone would make it into NCIS Season 22.
Or would they? Knight still had a decision to make. Would she take the REACT job offered or would she stay? Would Jimmy and Knight be able to make things work? She chose to take the job to train the next REACT class, although we don’t yet know what that means for Katrina Law in the series or Knight’s relationship.
At least everyone made it out of the NCIS Season 21 finale alive.
