If you thought Grosse Pointe Garden Society was going to leave the Quiche reveal until the very end, there is some great news. We now know who Quiche is, and we also know the circumstances around the not-quite-a-murder.

Caution: This post contains SPOILERS for Grosse Pointe Garden Society season 1, episode 12.

The penultimate episode brought major answers to our questions, and this was a twist we did not see coming. It’s brilliant writing when that happens, especially if you watch as much TV as I do. Usually, I can predict every twist, and this show has had me guessing all the way until the end.

Who is Quiche in Grosse Pointe Garden Society?

It turns out that it’s poor Keith, Doug’s dad and Alice’s father-in-law. It is a devastating blow, and he remained one of the most unsuspecting characters.

After all, we were sure that it was murder, right? We were looking at all the people the murderous four had issues with, leading to thoughts that it was Doug, Gary, and even Marilyn at one point. Well, it was none of them.

At the end of episode 11, we learned that Keith walked into the garden shed to find the four seemingly killing someone. Alice was getting well into stabbing someone, and Keith was shocked to learn it all. However, it turned out that they weren’t killing anyone. Instead, they were destroying the quilt, which Keith had won at the auction for Patty. Considering Alice’s hatred for her mother-in-law, finding out that Patty likely killed Molly, it’s not surprising that Alice took the quilt and ended up destroying it.

They wanted Patty to see them destroy it, but she wasn’t the one to come to the shed. Instead, Keith came in, and that’s when things took a deadly turn.

Keith’s death was an accident in Grosse Pointe Garden Society

It turns out that Keith wasn’t murdered. There was an unfortunate twist with a wood chipper that led to the quilt ending up in there, and as Keith pulled the blanket out to save it, he ended up stumbling backward and landing on all the tools. So, it now explains how so many tools ended up being the “murder” weapon and why one in particular was not.

What’s sad is that the four could have ended up calling this in as an accident. This may be why Joel and Tucker are on Birdie and Catherine’s side. They know that it was an accident, but now they need to cover it all up. Had they just turned to Joel in the first place, he could have helped to prove that it was all an unfortunate accident. Of course, that wouldn’t have made for a fun story!

Grosse Pointe Garden Society still has an episode to go. Will they all get away with it, or will they end up in trouble for covering up the death?

Grosse Pointe Garden Society airs on Friday at 8/7c on NBC.
