Reacher’s loyalty is put to the test in Reacher season 3, episode 2. Take a look at the events of the episode.

Caution: This post contains SPOILERS for Reacher season 3, episode 2.

During the first episode, Reacher had to prove he had the guts to do what needed to be done. In the second episode, he needed to prove his loyalty. What happened when someone questioned a few things about his story?

Reacher learns that Beck isn’t the one in charge in Reacher season 3, episode 2

After getting word to Duffy that Theresa was held in the basement, he needed to deal with a job Duke sent him on. Duke found out that the car used in the kidnapping attempt was in a police impound lot. A guy called Angel would take Reacher there to get some information about the car.

Well, there’s a problem. All the cars are there, including the BMW that the bodyguard was driving. They would all expect blood all over the car considering a grenade went off. Duffy realized that she couldn’t get the car out, but she did just have time to change the plates.

This was enough to stop Angel questioning too much, but there was still a lot that Reacher did that made Angel question his loyalty.

What was interesting in the car ride with Angel, though, was learning that Beck isn’t the one fully in charge. Who is? Well, Reacher thinks he knows. Is Quinn the one calling the shots? It certainly appears to be the case.

Reacher ends up with a driving job during the episode

Beck needed to test the new guy’s loyalty as well. This meant a driving job, and Reacher made a couple of calls along the way. The first was to Duffy to let her know where he would pull off so they could quickly check the truck. They needed to see if there were any drugs or remains inside. It turned out that there wasn’t. This really was a loyalty test.

The second call was to Neagley, because yes, she is the best person to call to get information. Reacher wants as much information on all those in Beck’s employ. He doesn’t want to get Neagley involved in any of this. Does she know who Quinn is? There are a lot of personal feelings for Reacher when it comes to Quinn, but was Neagley involved at the time as well? It’s hard to work out the timeline, to be honest.

By the end of the episode, it doesn’t really matter about Angel. When the guy starts to question Reacher’s story, Reacher decides it’s time to get rid of the problem. He kills Angel and then has to quickly hide the body while Duke is outside to pick Reacher up.

This is getting a lot stickier than he expected, and Duffy still hasn’t found out if Theresa is still alive or not.

Reacher airs on Thursdays on Prime Video.
