Something that probably isn't surprising to hear is that Sheriff Country will air arrive in the fall. However, we had to wait for confirmation from CBS to make sure we got our schedules set.
CBS is currently airing some teasers for upcoming new shows. These are the ones that got straight-to-series orders or were picked up last year. Sheriff Country quickly gained a following thanks to Morena Baccarin coming into Fire Country as Mickey Fox. She is now the sheriff, and she will lead the Fire Country spin-off.
The first teaser is out, and CBS has made it clear that it will arrive in the fall. While there is time to change this, CBS probably won't unless there is some big issue with the filming of the series. However, the fall schedule isn't out just yet, and we're not expecting to see that until May 2025.
Will Sheriff Country follow Fire Country on Fridays?
All eyes are on when Sheriff Country will air in the fall. We're looking at a likley Friday night release. It makes sense to keep this show partnered with Fire Country, which is the flagship series of this universe.
The question now is whether CBS will keep Fire Country in the 9 p.m. ET/PT timeslot, though. That series could move to an earlier time on Fridays come the fall, putting Sheriff Country on in the middle time slot. Considering Boston Blue, the Blue Bloods spin-off, is set to arrive in the fall as well and is likely to take over the former Blue Bloods timeslot, this schedule makes the most sense.
Alternatively, we could see Baccarin start Friday nights in style. Sheriff Country could air at 8 p.m. ET/PT, keeping Fire Country in the middle timeslot. I really think Boston Blue will take over that last timeslot of the night.
What about NCIS: Sydney? I imagine that being a midseason series if CBS decides to keep it on the linear network. Remember that it was never supposed to be a linear broadcast show — it was made for streaming!
We'll need to wait until the May Upfronts for the fall schedule. We'll be sure to keep an eye on any signs of where CBS will put the new series.
