Whenever we have a villain who is sticking around in a show for a long time, there is the question of redemption. Eyes are on whether Sir will be redeemed in Found, and the simple answer is he can’t be.
When it comes to redemption storylines, plenty of shows have included them. We saw Crowley find his redemption in Supernatural despite being a demon — although, I’d argue that he was still doing it on selfish grounds because he hated Lucifer. Klaus Mikaelson in The Originals, Jaime Lannister in Game of Thrones, and even Loki in the Marvel Universe have all been through redemptions arcs.
So, what about Sir? Well, the simple matter is whether Sir wants to be redeemed or not, and that’s not the reason he’s working with Gabi to save people.
Sir has ulterior motives in Found
I don’t even think Sir believes what he is doing is wrong. This is a man completely obsessed with Gabi, and he wants her in his life any way possible. Right now, that means offering her help from inside a prison cell.
Mark-Paul Gosselaar explained to NBC Insider that Sir just wants to be close to Gabi. He wants to make himself useful to prove that he is invaluable to her, and that means helping her save people for now. That was the way their bond continued to grow when he was held captive by her.
"I have never looked at a script and thought [he's] doing this for redemption. It's to keep the connection. In my mind, everything [he] does is just so [he] can be connected to Gabrielle."

A character needs to want redemption to stand a chance of achieving it
When we look at characters who have been redeemed, they’ve wanted it. Jaime wanted to prove Brienne that he was better than the man he had grown up to be, while Klaus wanted to do better for his daughter. Villainelle in Killing Eve realized that she liked the social connection that she had, and she wanted more of that, so she sought redemption to gain it.
For Sir to be able to gain redemption, he needs to want it. That’s not something that he craves. He has one obsession, and that’s his Gabrielle. He will do whatever it takes to remain connected to her, and if that means helping find innocent people and seem like the good guy, then so be it. Unfortunately, there are going to be a lot of people who see the good without assessing why he’s doing it, making many think that he is capable of redemption.
