We are ready to tune into a new episode of SWAT to see what 20-Squad is up to next. There is some bad news tonight, Friday, March 21. There isn’t a new episode of the series on tonight.
In even worse news, there isn’t even a rerun. CBS has shifted the schedule a little bit for the rest of March, but we do know when the show will return.
It’s all about March Madness on CBS
As we previously warned everyone, SWAT season 8 is now on a break for the rest of the month. There will be no episodes until the beginning of April, as March Madness takes over the CBS schedule. For the next two weeks, basketball will air on Thursdays and Fridays, and this is completely normal for this time of the year.
CBS has planned for it. This break now is a good thing for when the series returns. There are only so many episodes filmed and they need to fit into the weeks leading up to May finales. With a break now due to sport, it means that there are fewer breaks where it just involves reruns.

When will SWAT season 8 return with new episodes?
This is just a two-week break. As soon as March Madness is over, the series will be back to normal. SWAT season 8 will return with new episodes on Friday, April 4.
There are currently no details about the episode, which isn’t that surprising. CBS can often hold the details until the week before the episode airs.
We do finish this with some bad news. SWAT has been canceled by CBS, and it doesn’t look like there’s a third save for the series. Shemar Moore and others aren’t done, but they need to find another network or streamer to pick it up, and nobody is biting just yet. However, the season finale was written to work as a series finale just in case.
SWAT returns on Friday, April 4. Catch up on the series on Paramount+.
