It’s been a long winter break, but that’s coming to a close tonight for SWAT fans. There’s a new episode airing tonight, Jan. 31, 2025.

We’ll get a new episode with 20-Squad deep in the action. Just keep in mind that this is at a new time. The series will move to 10 p.m. ET/PT tonight, and we’ve seen a run of that with reruns throughout the month to prepare us. It’s taking Blue Bloods’ timeslot now that that series has come to an end.

What to expect in SWAT season 8, episode 9

Hondo and the team will have a case of dangers from the past. The synopsis tells us that there’s a dangerous enemy from the past who is intent on revenge. However, we did see something earlier that said it was someone from Hondo’s past. This would hint that Hondo is the one in danger, as someone comes after him for revenge.

That’s not surprising. Hondo has had a long career as a SWAT member, and he has put a lot of dangerous people away. The question is whether the person from the past is someone we’ve already met or not. Do Deacon and Tan know who this is? What about Hicks?

Speaking of Deacon and Tan, they will butt heads over the training of the new SWAT Academy recruits. Tan has his own way of doing things, and that’s not the way that Deacon would do it. Of course, things have to change when a new person takes over a task, but Deacon isn’t all that great with change.

The two are sure to come to some sort of understanding. Really, it should come down to Deacon trusting Tan to do the best for the new recruits.
