The Hunting Party season 2 will premiere in the fall (but when can we expect it?)

One of the shows NBC did renew in the 2024–2025 TV season was The Hunting Party, and now we look at when it's likely to premiere.

The 2024–2025 TV season was a tough one for NBC viewers, but The Hunting Party did manage to make it through. We know that it’s moving from the midseason to the fall, and it will take over Found’s timeslot from season 2.

Yes, The Hunting Party season 2 is going to be longer, and it will air in a tricky time slot. Watching live is essential to keep it on the air, so you’ll want to know when it’s going to premiere. We don’t have dates just yet, but we can make a rough guess based on normal Thursday shows in the fall.

The Hunting Party season 2 could premiere in early October 2025

In the past, NBC had a habit of premiering fall shows in the last couple weeks of September. That’s still the case for a fair few shows, but not the Thursday night shows. Last year, Law & Order, SVU, and Found all premiered at the start of October.

With that in mind, we’re potentially looking at another October date. It shouldn’t be too late into October, though, and we’re looking at Thursday, Oct. 2 as a potential The Hunting Party season 2 premiere date on NBC.

We’d love for it to be a week earlier, though. This means that the current break is much shorter. However, bringing shows back in October can be a good thing for the break on the other side. After all, the on-off schedule of broadcast networks gets frustrating.

The Hunting Party has a difficult timeslot in the 2025–2026 TV season

When NBC announced its fall 2025 schedule, it did come with some disappointing news about the decisions to place The Hunting Party season 2 on Thursday nights. The last timeslot of Thursdays is always a tricky one, across the various networks. This is the one that many shows on ABC, CBS, and NBC have ended up being canceled in, including Alaska Daily and recently Found.

So, we are worried about the future of the sophomore series. It’s important to watch live as much as possible, as this is the best thing for the networks. The higher live viewership tells the advertisers that people are tuning in, and they’re willing to pay more for those time blocks. This keeps popular shows on the air, especially if they’re affordable to produce.

The Hunting Party will air on Thursdays at 10/9c on NBC. Stream the first season on Peacock right now.
