The end of April will bring a string of finales for CBS. We’re already seeing some happen on NBC, FOX, and The CW. It seems odd to end shows this early, especially when it comes to the NCIS franchise. The NCIS: Origins season 1 finale is one of the first of the CBS finales to air, and we know some of what to expect.
It’s not the first of the finales, though. Keep in mind that Matlock is the first finale on Thursday, April 17, and then both NCIS: Sydney season 2 and Fire Country season 3 will end their seasons on Friday, April 25.
When is the NCIS: Origins season 1 finale?
Usually, we see all shows on one night wrap up their stories at the same time. Well, sadly, that’s not the case with the Monday night NCIS shows. NCIS: Origins season 1 will end its story on Monday, April 28, and we’ll wait an extra week for NCIS season 22.
This is due to NCIS: Origins having fewer episodes than the flagship series. It’s why there were a few breaks for this show while the flagship aired new episodes. With some hope, next year, the two shows will be the same length so that they can start and finish at the same time.
What to expect in the NCIS: Origins season 1 finale?
As we previously mentioned, the NCIS: Origins season 1 finale will see a younger version of a former Los Angeles boss. It’s not Hetty Lange, though. Instead, the series will bring us a younger version of Lara Macy, who is coming in due to Hernandez’s body being unearthed.
The episode is titled “Cecilia,” which is the first name of Agent Lala Dominguez. All we know as of right now is that Hernandez’s murder is going to be outed, and it means that Macy is coming after Gibbs. As Lala and Franks know the truth, will the two of them stick their necks out to protect Gibbs understanding where he was coming from? We know that Gibbs doesn’t get thrown under the bus and that Franks continues his job in the NIS, but what about Lala? There’s very little that we know about her, but this has been her story.
The loyalty of one particular member of the team is going to be brought into question, and we know it’s not going to be Franks. It could suggest that Lala makes a choice to walk away after everything that she’s had to do to protect Gibbs.
NCIS: Origins airs on Mondays at 10/9c on CBS. Catch up on the series on Paramount+.
