We know in the final season not all couples can make it. Well, 911: Lone Star just delivered a blow on one couple.

Caution: This post contains SPOILERS for 911: Lone Star season 5, episode 4.

Things have come to an end for a couple, and we were just getting hopeful that they could find a way to make things work. Yes, it was all about Tommy and Trevor in the latest episode.

Tommy meets Cassandra in 911: Lone Star season 5, episode 4

The episode saw the dreaded meeting of Trevor’s ex. It’s in their parenting agreement that Cassandra gets to vet anyone Trevor wants to live with and marry, and so that’s Tommy. She only agreed to it because of the near-death experience that she had.

Of course, something went wrong at dinner. Isn’t that always the case when it comes to meeting the ex? In the end, the two women were able to get along and Tommy got Cassandra’s blessing.

So what happened?

Tommy won’t move to Kansas in 911: Lone Star

That’s when Trevor dropped the bombshell of a move back to Kansas. In a way, this isn’t that surprising. That’s where Cassandra is, and as a parent of small children, I couldn’t imagine them living in a completely different state to me at that age.

However, Tommy drew a line under that request. Austin is her home, and she’s not uprooting her daughters and her whole life for Trevor. As much as she loves him, she has to put her children first.

One thing I loved about this episode is that the conversation was so mature. Tommy and Trevor could see that there was no compromise here. Sometimes, you have to accept that there isn’t a compromise. If neither want to live where the other is, then they have to eventually break up. So, rather than going back and forth about whether they could make it work, they decided it was time to end their relationship now.

I do think Trevor should have been a lot more open with Tommy before this point. A lot seems to have been thrown at her because he failed to communicate a few things, but I know so many men like that, that it’s not really surprising it happened. But in the end, they were mature about it.

Could things change? This is the final season, so maybe we see Tommy realizing that she is willing to move. But I don’t want that to happen. Texas is the home for her children as well. Their dad’s grave is here, and they can’t just up and leave right now. So, I do think this is final.
