We would love nothing more than to jump into a new episode of Tracker season 2 tonight, Sunday, Jan. 12. That’s not going to happen, but is there hope of a rerun?
Sundays will turn back into CBS Drama Night in February. We have to wait until after the Super Bowl, though. Until then, we have reruns, awards shows, and football to contend with.
Reruns, you say? Does that mean we at least get an older episode of the Justin Hartley series?
There isn’t a rerun of Tracker on tonight, Sunday, Jan. 12
This is where we have some bad news. There isn’t going to be a rerun of the series on tonight, Sunday, Jan. 12. CBS has opted for a night of NCIS: Origins reruns. This does make some sense considering the network wants to give the new NCIS prequel series a boost. Tracker already has the viewership, but NCIS: Origins isn’t performing as well. Putting on reruns on a night that usually gets a good viewership could help to give this series the boost it needs.
Of course, it’s disappointing for those of us who want to check out the Justin Hartley series. At least we have Paramount+, and we can watch whichever episode we would like.
When will Tracker season 2 return with new episodes?
There won’t be any new episodes of Tracker season 2 throughout January. While CBS is bringing most of its shows back this month, the Sunday night dramas will wait a little longer. We won’t get Tracker season 2 episodes until February.
We have to wait until after the Super Bowl. Tracker season 2, episode 9 will air on Sunday, Feb. 16 at 8/7c. We’ll get a night of detective-style dramas, as the new series Watson will air straight after Tracker and then we’ll end the night with The Equalizer.
This is a blessing in disguise. If CBS opted to bring the show back this week, we would see some weeks off in the coming weeks. We would also see the linear ratings take a hit. After all, NBC will air the last of the Wild Card NFL Playoff games. This is the point when more people tune into Sunday Night Football to watch these bigger games to see who will make it to the Super Bowl.
Opting to hold off episodes until after the Super Bowl helps to keep the linear ratings steady and the airing of the episodes more consistent, which is great for the success of the series. We stand a better chance of getting a third season.
Tracker returns on Sunday, Feb. 16 at 8/7c on CBS. Catch up on the series on Paramount+.
