Justin Hartley had another This Is Us reunion when it came to the director of an upcoming episode of his CBS show Tracker. Actor Jon Huertas, who has already directed two previous episodes of the series, came back to direct a third episode.
In an interview with TV Insider, Hartley discussed Huerta’s directing and what he loved about Huertas in the director’s chair. He described him as “a wise, sort of like a throwback dude in that Jon can do anything. He’s a handyman.” Hartley also said he Huertas focuses on the emotional aspects when it comes to the characters in the show and is able to understand where the story is going.
Jon Huertas returns to direct his third episode of Tracker

Tracker is currently on hiatus, but is set to return on Sunday, March 1. It won’t be long before the episode Huertas directed will air, which is set for March 8. So far, what we know about the episode is it is titled “To the Bone,” and focuses on Colter’s search for a missing 18-year-old who has been harboring a secret life.
Huertas and Hartley worked together on NBC’s This Is Us for six seasons, with Huertas playing his stepfather, Miguel, on the show. It would be cool to see how they would work together onscreen when not playing the role of family members who don’t necessarily see eye to eye.
While Huertas has never appeared onscreen for Hartley’s show, the star did not rule out the possibility of him making his onscreen debut on Tracker. “He’s a talented actor. I’d love to see him onscreen on Tracker.” Now that the idea is out there, we’d also love to see more This Is Us stars join Hartley in some capacity to see how they work together differently based on the characters they portray.

When Tracker returns to television, Colter will be dealing with the aftermath of a case that left both him and John Keaton (Brent Sexton) in danger. Preview photos showed Colter in the care of Billie, a fellow rewardest played by Hartley’s wife Sofia Pernas. While it’s clear from information about upcoming episodes that Colter is fine, we’re still in the dark as to whether Keaton will survive his injuries.
If you’d like to watch the episodes Huertas directed previously, they are available on Paramount+. He directed season 1 episode 3, “Aurora,” and season 2 episode 10, “Nightingale.”
Tracker returns with new episodes on Sunday, March 1 at 9/8c.
