Tracker season 3 will be back soon, but until then, we do have an inkling of what will happen once the Justin Hartley-led show returns with the midseason premiere. Not only is Colter Shaw in danger and being framed for murder, but he is also injured after being shot and involved in a car crash. He will have to rely on a familiar face when the season 3 midseason premiere airs in March 2026.

Photos from TV Insider show Colter being treated for his injuries, and he is aided by none other than Billie, played by Hartley’s wife, Sofia Pernas. In the fall finale, Colter had been helping Keaton search for a former partner when they became embedded within a conspiracy that left them both in danger from an assassin.

Bloodlines
“Bloodlines” – Colter and rival rewardist Billie Matalon team up to find a missing high school baseball star, on the CBS Original series TRACKER, Sunday, Oct. 27 (8:30-9:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+* (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*. Sofia Pernas returns to help Colter on the Tracker season 3 midseaosn premiere

Billie was last seen on Tracker season 2, and this will be Pernas’s fourth appearance on the show. She is a fellow rewardist who has worked with Colter on other cases. It would make sense that he would call her, since he is not only in danger, but is being hunted. Since she has helped him in the past, she is likely one of the few people he feels he can turn to.

Plus, the last time they were seen together, they shared a passionate kiss, so who knows what sparks will fly when they are on screen together again.

In the fall midseason finale, Colter was trying to get Keaton to the hospital after he was shot when the would-be assassin shot at the vehicle, causing an accident. Showrunner Elwood Reid said the culmination of these events leads Colter to call Billie for help, describing her as “one of his phone-a-friends” for when things went sideways.

While Keaton’s fate is unknown, it appears that the premiere will find Billie and Colter working together to determine who is involved in the shooting and accident. The synopsis for the episode, titled “The Fallout,” finds Colter relying on Billie since he is unable to communicate with either Reenie or Randy.

"Injured and framed for a string of murders, Colter, cut off from Reenie and Randy, must rely on unexpected ally Billie to stop a relentless assassin, uncovering a murky truth where justice and vengeance blur."

Fans will have to wait until Sunday, March 1 (at the later time of 9/8c) for the episode to premiere. But, for now, fans can enjoy the news that Tracker has been renewed for season 4. Even without knowing what will happen to Colter in the next episode, we do know he will likely be back for more adventures in the next fall television season. All episodes of season 3 are available for viewing on Paramount+, so you can catch up until the show's return.

Tracker returns on Sunday, March 1 on CBS at 9/8c.
