We know that not all TV shows can make it through from one season to the next. That doesn’t mean we’re happy when TV shows are canceled, especially when it’s our favorite ones. The 2024–2025 has a lot of TV crime dramas that are on the bubble, and I hate it.
In fact, NBC and FOX have barely renewed anything this year. Not as lot has been canceled either, but not making a decision on a lot of shows means that I worry about too many of them. And it’s these two networks that have more of the shows that I adore in this genre!
So, what’s on the bubble that I’m worried about? Here are the five TV crime dramas I think could be canceled.
Found
I have to start with my favorite of all the TV crime dramas on the bubble. Found is one of those shows that is so beautifully and expertly written. The characters are smart and also flawed, and it’s their flaws that make them endearing. The fact that they know they have these flaws and are (mostly) trying to work on them is also a powerful part of the storytelling.
There are many reasons this series is important TV right now, and I’ve gone through them before. At the heart of the show is one about found family helping to deal with trauma. They are all their for each other, accepting each other warts and all, and that’s what we need to see more of.

The Hunting Party
Another series that is expertly written is The Hunting Party. I had already been excited about the idea of making psychopaths more psychopathic, but the series took me on wild turns that I didn’t expect but just made sense. The mystery surrounding The Pit was great, but just the fact that not all killers ended up dead and the team was trying to figure out how the treatments had changed the killer made this for engrossing television.
The series didn’t stick to the same formula with each killer, either. We got a copycat killer, and we had one where the killer was no longer following the same MO as before. Then there were secrets that each of the main characters were keeping. We’re only just scratching the surface on this series, so we need more.

Grosse Pointe Garden Society
Sometimes, you just need something light and entertaining, and that’s exactly what Grosse Pointe Garden Society offers. The new series isn’t the traditional “whodunit” either. We know who the murderers are, and now our mystery is to solve who Quiche is. There are plenty of people it could be, and we’re slowly getting to the answers.
There are a few other mysteries along the way. The two timelines help to bring up more questions while offering a few answers. Overall, the writing is just fun, making for some pure entertainment.

Accused
Not everything has to be about hunting down a killer, and when it comes to crime, not everything has to be about murder. Accused brought us something different with its form of storytelling. Not all crimes were murder, and not all stories we being told as they actually happened — we got a great look at how stories can be twisted in a court of law.
This series also offers a look at how our own biases can affect a story. Just as we think we have what the accused did, the story is turned on its head. The first season was admittedly better than the first, but that doesn’t mean this series needs to be canceled just yet. However, with the low linear ratings for a fall show, I suspect that FOX will move onto another show.

The Irrational
Finally, it’s all about the Jesse L. Martin series, The Irrational. This is one of those shows that is both entertaining and educational. In a lot of cases, it involves a murder, with Alec consulting on the cases to help explain human behavior. People rationally act irrationally throughout their day-to-day lives, and he uses that information to help get to the bottom of a case.
The second season brought in development for other characters, as well. We got to find out about Marisa’s long-lost son she gave up for adoption, and he came back into her life. Then Kylie, Phoebe, Simon, and Rose all got some development. The only character who seems to have been forgotten about is Rizwan, and I would love to see a third season to give him more time.
