We’ve come to the end of another season of Reacher, and what a season it was. Don’t worry if you’re not caught up just yet, as we’re not going into any of the spoilers from the final episode. This is all about Reacher season 4.
Yes, the fourth season is happening. This was ordered well before season 3 arrived, but the question is when that season will hit Prime Video. It’s not going to happen in 2025, but there is hope that we’ll see it in late 2026.
Reacher season 4 is in pre-production already
The episodes have already been written, and the show is currently in the pre-production stage. Collider reports that Lee Child told TechRadar that filming is slated to begin in the summer. That’s probably going to make Alan Ritchson happy, considering the series films in Toronto. Swimming in the winter is not fun at all!
With the months of filming and then post-production, it would likely mean that a late 2026 release date is likely. Prime Video may want to push the release into 2027, but that’s for one reason within the Reacher universe. Keep in mind that the third season was filming while season 2 aired in December 2023, but it wasn't until February 2025 that the season was ready to air on Prime Video. That will give you an idea of how long it can take for a season to film.
We don’t know which book the fourth season will be based on just yet. One of the great things about this series is that it’s more of an anthology than a strict series. Yes, there are the odd characters who return or are mentioned, but the storylines don’t follow off from each other as Reacher moves from place to place.
Neagley is currently already in production
We have to remember that there is a spin-off series focused on Frances Neagley in production. Neagley, as it’s unsurprisingly titled, is currently filming in Toronto. Maria Sten commented about the snowstorm that hit back in February, and as someone who lives near the Greater Toronto Area, I cannot wait to see all those snow piles!
With that show finishing up production around when Reacher season 4 begins, we’ll likely see it premiere in early 2026. Prime Video may not want two shows within the same universe airing in the same year, although one at the start and one at the end won’t be too bad.
