If there is one series with an intriguing conspiracy mystery, it’s The Hunting Party. With just a handful of episodes left in the first season, there are a lot of questions about how much of The Pit will be discovered. Just when is The Hunting Party season 1 finale to get some ideas?

We’ve just had the eighth episode air, and this was the episode I was most excited about. The murders reminded me a lot of Criminal Minds, and the storyline was a more traditional “whodunit” with a Hunting Party twist. More questions about The Pit have come up, and we don’t have many more episodes to get answers in.

The Hunting Party season 1 finale date on NBC

There are just 10 episodes in this first season. With episode 8 just airing, it means there are two left. That puts The Hunting Party season 1 finale on Monday, April 7.

This makes sense as Found will air on Monday, April 14 for the week as Law & Order: Organized Crime season 5’s premiere will get a linear outing on Thursday of that week. Found will move back to the Thursday night slot the following week.

What are the chances of The Hunting Party season 2?

This is one of those bubble shows that I can’t call either way. Personally, I want to see more. The Pit mystery has me hooked, along with looking into the psychology of the serial killers. The problem is the show isn’t performing as well in the linear ratings as I’d like to say that it will definitely be renewed. This is a true bubble show.

TV Series Finale gives us a look at the same day linear ratings, and it puts The Hunting Party in eighth out of 15 scripted shows in both the average demo and the average total audience. As it’s the highest ranking freshman series, this could help to see it get renewed. The only dramas ahead of it are the two Law & Orders and the One Chicago lineup, which does mean something positive for a renewal.

Of course, NBC could opt to just scrap all freshman and sophomore dramas and try again with pilots. This is a bigger risk, though, so it makes sense to keep hold of at least one of them. The truth is I just can’t say if we’ll get a renewal or not right now.

The Hunting Party airs on Mondays at 10/9c on NBC. Catch up the following day on Peacock.
