After weeks of wondering, it looks like there is, indeed, an upcoming crossover between Ryan Murphy’s 911 and 911: Nashville. Which characters are traveling to Tennessee, and what can we expect when the crossover eventually premieres?

Even though we are still a few weeks out from the winter premieres of both shows on ABC, we do have some information courtesy of the 911onABC Instagram page. They posted a photo of the Nashville cast alongside some familiar faces. Oliver Stark’s Evan “Buck” Buckley and Ryan Guzman’s Eddie Diaz are going to be joining the 113 crew and fans are excited!

The photo shows the 911 actors sitting next to the main cast of Nashville while dressed in their work bomber jackets. Next to them are Hailey Kilgore, Michael Provost, Hunter McVey, and Juani Feliz. There is not much information on the crossover yet. However, according to TV Insider, ABC did refer to it as “an epic crossover event.”

There has already been a small crossover in the form of Cammie (Kimberly Williams-Paisley) appearing during 911’s opening space emergency. Maddie Han (Jennifer Love Hewitt) called the dispatcher for help when they lost contact with Hen and Athena in space.

Buck and Eddie are heading to 911: Nashville at some point in 2026

At least this time, Buck and Eddie will be safely on Earth during this crossover, although we wonder what will bring them to Tennessee. When we last saw the 911 men, Buck had just helped his late Captain’s stepson, Harry, prepare for the firefighter academy, and Eddie had lost his grandmother unexpectedly. On Nashville, Blue had nearly stopped being a firefighter until an emergency led to his returning to the profession.

So far 911: Nashville has had decent ratings, but the arrival of two fan favorite characters from 911 could give the Chris O’Donnell-led series a boost as the third spinoff in the franchise continues to find its footing.

Nashville’s showrunner, Rashad Raisani, described wanting the crossover to allow for more crossover possibilities with the two teams uniting. He said they hoped to “start to develop a relationship between these casts so that it won’t always be so out of the norm to be able to do it.”

It would be great to see more possible crossover episodes, especially since 911: Lone Star ended after five seasons with only one crossover episode with 911. Maybe there is a chance that one day we could get some returning cast members from that show on either one of the remaining series in the franchise.

Even though there’s not a confirmed date for the 911 and 911: Nashville crossover, the shows will be back on screen soon enough. 911 airs on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026, at 8/7c with Nashville following soon after at 9/8c.
