Did you feel like you knew the actor who played Damon Drew in Countdown? You’ve seen him somewhere before, right, and you can’t place your finger on it. Don’t worry; we have you covered.
Yes, you have seen the face of Drew before, as the character is played by Jonathan Togo. In fact, he was in a long-running, fan-favorite crime drama.

Jonathan Togo played Ryan Wolfe in CSI: Miami
Most people will immediately go “Oh, of course!” as soon as they hear that Togo starred in CSI: Miami. He played CSI Detective Ryan Wolfe in the drama, although not from the very beginning. He joined the cast in the third season of the series, being introduced as a patrol officer for the Miami-Dade Police Department, when he came over to CSI after the death of Speedle.
Ryan’s care and attention to his sidearm immediately caught Horatio Caine’s attention. It was lack of care that led to the death of Speedle, and Horatio didn’t want anything like that happening again. He remained with the series until the end, although he wasn’t always employed as a CSI!
Most recently, Togo has been in the biblical series The Chosen, where he played Malchus in six episodes. You can also see him guest star in shows like Lucifer, Covert Affairs, and Angel from Hell.

Will Damon Drew return to Countdown?
Now there are plenty of questions about whether we’ll see Togo’s character in Countdown again. Drew was shot at the end of episode 3, and he was confirmed to have died in surgery in the fourth episode. This wasn’t something put on to help trick the villains of the story, either, as by this point, very little was known about the large conspiracy.
It is possible that there could be a flashback somewhere, especially as the show gets to the end and the bad guy is captured. Maybe we’ll even see Meachum suffer hallucinations to show that his brain tumor is getting worse. However, there’s no confirmation that Drew will be back.
Countdown airs on Wednesdays on Prime Video.
