Jonathan Togo being in Countdown was a great surprise for CSI: Miami fans. He offered some great insight into the way people work, and he found his voice to stand up against the District Attorney during the third hour of the series.

However, things took a turn at the end of the episode. Drew was shot during the gunfight at the Belarusian restaurant. What will happen to the character next?

Things aren’t looking good for Drew in Countdown

We have to be honest and say things are probably going to turn out negatively for Drew in Countdown. He was shot in the chest, and you can hear him struggling to breathe while everyone crowds around him and calls in for help. His lung was likely punctured from the gunshot.

While we can tell from the promo for the next episode that they get him to the hospital, things aren’t looking great. We don’t get the full answer, but you can tell from the looks on everyone’s faces that it’s bad news.

This could lead to blame being shifted onto Meachum. Had he not had the plan to go undercover and go on the run with a prisoner, the shootout at the restaurant wouldn’t have happened. However, that plan had to play out for Meachum to see those plans in the room in the basement. Meachum is sure to put some of the blame on himself, but they all know the dangers of the job, and they will also know that Meachum wasn’t the one who started the gunfight.

Jonathan Togo isn’t listed as a series regular in Countdown

Something else that gives away the outcome is the casting list. Togo was a surprise in the casting, despite seemingly being a main character in the series. However, if you look at the casting list, he’s not listed as a main character.

This would suggest that he was only going to be around for the first three episodes. He’ll be killed off, and we’ll get the realities of the job. Lives are put on the line.

There’s no doubt that this is going to cause more problems for the task force, as they’ll struggle to remain secret with this turn of events. At the same time, they’ll need to remain focused in their grief to make sure that Drew’s death wasn’t in vain.

I don’t think this is going to turn out great for Drew in Countdown.
