In the new series High Potential, Morgan, played by Kaitlin Olson, is a mom with three kids and an uncanny ability to notice and remember minute details. While she may have started as the night-time cleaning lady for the police department, once her talent is discovered, she reluctantly helps solve a case. Viewers first see her abilities after she accidentally knocks over some notes and crime scene photos. As she organizes them, Morgan determines that the police are going in the wrong direction.
She works with Karadec, a veteran detective played by Daniel Sunjata. Finally, she gets the case across the finish line, never dreaming that her help will result in a gig as a paid consultant. Morgan's unlikely friendship with the rule-following Karadec is one of the most entertaining, and enjoyable, parts of High Potential.
Of course, the show has plenty of humor, and the cases are solved thanks to Morgan. What was the clearance rate at this precinct before she started consulting? Anyway, eventually, Morgan and Karadec get into a working rhythm.
What High Potential role will Taran Killam play?
According to Deadline, Taran Killam appears in a recurring role as Ludo in High Potential. Ludo is Morgan's ex and Chloe and Elliott's father. He is sweet, humorous, and a devoted dad to his kids. Since Morgan is now consulting for the police, Ludo needs to babysit his kids with Morgan, as well as her daughter, Ava. It is obvious that Ludo still carries a torch for Morgan, and I have my fingers crossed that we might see some sparks fly.
Taran performed for six seasons on Saturday Night Live and also had television roles in American Crime Story: Impeachment as well as Single Parents. He has appeared in the films River Wild, The Heat, Killing Gunther, and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. I'm looking forward to finding out more about Ludo, and what happened to cause his split from Morgan.
High Potential airs on Tuesdays at 10/9c on ABC. It streams the following day on Hulu.
