Why isn't Chicago PD new tonight, and when will the series return? (Oct. 30)
There’s no doubt that we’re ready to see Kiana Cook join Intelligence. There’s just a bit of a wait for that, as Chicago PD isn’t airing a new episode tonight, Wednesday, Oct. 30.
We learned the show would take a break when the promo for episode 6 aired. It made it clear that there was a brief break in the schedule.
Why isn’t Chicago PD on tonight?
There isn’t a new episode of the series on tonight, but there is a rerun of the Chicago PD season 12 premiere. This, along with the release of the promo, suggests that the break is due to scheduling needs. NBC has no other reason to put the show on a break this week.
This isn’t too surprising, but it is disappointing. The broadcast networks need to fit 22 episodes into nine months, and that means breaks here and there.
The god news is that the break isn’t a long one. We’ll get to see the show return on Wednesday, Nov. 6. This is something that the promo made clear.
What to expect in Chicago PD season 12, episode 6
The new episode will see Burgess take the step up in her career. She is on a path to get her detective badge, and the new episode will see her meet the last stage of it all. It’s all about the ride-along to see if she is suitable for detective in the field. We have seen her at her best in the field, but we all know that there’s going to be some sort of drama that makes it a difficult case for Burgess.
On top of that, we’ll see Cook join Intelligence. She got the offer at the end of the previous episode, and it’s clear that she wants this. She doesn’t want to be stuck on patrol, but she’s sure a move to Intelligence isn’t possible. Well, Voight is going to be able to pull some strings to make it work.
