Just as we get a good string of episodes, we have some disappointing news about Will Trent. It’s another show that will head on a break for the rest of the Winter Olympics (and more!).

ABC only had two crime dramas running throughout the Winter Olympics. We thought that we’d have a couple of episodes of Will Trent, with just a break coming for the State of the Union Address, but now ABC has pulled the series from the schedule.

WILL TRENT - “You’re Not That Person Anymore” - In the aftermath of Faith’s deepening entanglement with Malcolm, her undercover work and emotions collide. Meanwhile, Amanda faces an unexpected challenge as Seth and Angie’s next chapter begins to take shape. TUESDAY, FEB. 10 (8:00-9:00 p.m. EST) on ABC. (Disney/Daniel Delgado Jr.) IANTHA RICHARDSON

Why is Will Trent pulled from the ABC schedule?

It’s not all that clear why ABC has chosen to pull Will Trent from the schedule. If it was just due to the Winter Olympics, it would have pulled the show this week as well. In fact, waiting until March for the conclusion to the Faith/Malcolm storyline would have made sense. We often get a cliffhanger before a break.

So, it looks like this is partly due to scheduling. It’s highly possible that Will Trent was planning on taking the two weeks of the Winter Olympics off, and then the State of the Union Address was added in just afterward, taking up another Tuesday. So, ABC had to change up the schedule a little, opting to put an episode on during the first week of the Winter Olympics.

When is Will Trent back with new episodes?

We have to wait until March for the return of the series. Due to another week of the Winter Olympics and then the State of the Union Address, Will Trent isn’t back until Tuesday, March 3. This is the same date that High Potential will return with new episodes.

Now there is something exciting about the show when it does return. Mark-Paul Gosselaar will return as Paul Campano. This is sure to amplify the stakes, considering the connection Paul and Will have had from the beginning of the series, and it’s coming at a difficult time. Angie has married Seth, and that means Will knows that Angie really is gone. She has chosen someone who isn’t him.

"A chilling suburban murder pushes Will and Faith into the mind of a meticulous killer. As his empathy edges toward obsession, the return of Paul Campano, his volatile former foster brother, threatens to unravel both the case and Will’s inner balance."

As for the case of the week, Will and Faith will need to deal with a killer, and it’s clear that there is much more to the case than meets the eye. With Paul’s return, it’s going to throw off Will’s resolve and inner balance, leading to him questioning everything that’s happening around him.

Will Trent will return on Tuesday, March 3 at 8/7c on ABC.
